Connecting the Dots - Film Screening of Fat Boy Chronicles
Chattanooga's Kids on the Block will participate in this screening of "The Fat Boy Chronicles"! We will highlight our educational program "Kids on the Move" (childhood obesity) and "S.T.E.P.S.: Safety Talk Encouraging Peaceful Schools" (bullying).
We invite all to attend the screening and participate in the Connecting the Dots Summit held by the Chattanooga Department of Education, Arts & Culture in partnership with Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga and the United Way of Greater Chattanooga.

"The Fat Boy Chronicles" Film Screening and Authors coming to Chattanooga for Connecting the Dots Summit mid-year session
The City of Chattanooga Department of Education, Arts & Culture (EAC) in partnership with Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga and the United Way of Greater Chattanooga announces the Connecting the Dots Summit mid-year session featuring "The Fat Boy Chronicles" authors Michael Buchannan and Diane Lang and artist and education advocate Sean Layne who will be leading break-out sessions on the power of arts, self-awareness, and positive peer pressure in tackling the issues of childhood obesity and bullying. The Connecting the Dots mid-year summit will take place in the United Way Community Room on Tuesday, November 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
A "Sneak Peak" film screening of "The Fat Boy Chronicles" will be hosted by the Chattanooga Choo Choo Centennial Theatre, (with special thanks to Eric Channin, with the Audio Visual Specialist for providing equipment for the film screening), on Monday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. Chattanooga Kids On the Block will be opening with their latest program "Kids on the Move." The authors and screenwriters Michael Buchannan and Diane Lang will be available following the film screening for a question and answer session and book signing. Leading up to the event, middle school and high school classrooms and youth organizations are encouraged to read the book "The Fat Boy Chronicles" as part of EAC's "What's Going On?" reading initiative addressing social issues through arts and literacy. A limited number of books are available to schools, community centers, and youth organizations through United Way of Greater Chattanooga and the Ready by 21 initiative.
