Designs Pumpkins for A Tale of 4 Souls: A Haunted Spirit Ball
Fundraiser Benefiting Chattanooga's Kids on the Block
Chattanooga, TN (09/27/11) - Students in the Art Departments at Ooltewah High School will design "Pumpkins" for the Chattanooga's Kids on the Block’s newest fundraising event: A Tale of 4 Souls: A Haunted Spirit Ball!"
The event will be held on Saturday, October 29, aboard the Delta Queen, 7:00 p.m.-midnight! The pumpkins, designed by the students, will be judged by guests during the event to help CKOB raise money to continue its mission of educating children on social concerns and differences giving them the skills to stay safe and healthy.
A Tale of 4 Souls: A Haunted Spirit Ball is an elegant "grim and proper" costume ball with limited attendance due to the size of the ship. All guests will have the opportunity to stay the night aboard the Delta Queen at a discounted rate of $109.00 which includes brunch on Sunday October, 30 sponsored by the Delta Queen.
The Ooltewah High Art Department students that participate in the creative design of the pumpkins will have the chance to win frightfully delightful prizes for their efforts and support of CKOB. Guests will vote on the top three designs and be eligible to take each pumpkin home for the weekend holiday celebrating Halloween.
Adding to the event guests will have the opportunity to win an overnight stay, that evening in Captain Mary’s haunted room #109. The popular television show on the Discovery Channel, "Ghost Lab" discovered the ghost of Captain Mary Green aboard the ship! According to staff and patrons of the ship there are four ghosts that roam her decks!
"We are thrilled that so many young people have taken an interested in helping Chattanooga's Kids on the Block raise funds which will help us continue to provide the vital educational programs in our community," said Kelly Williams, CKOB Executive Director.
Our "Haunted Spirit Ball" will feature complimentary beer provided by Big River Grille & Brewing, complimentary wine and a complimentary ghoul evening buffet. Specialty drinks will be available for purchase with $1.00 of the proceeds benefiting CKOB. There will be dancing with the spirits, champagne & fortune telling and a special Ghost tour at Midnight aboard the ship!
