FUNDRAISING EVENT TO BENEFIT
CHATTANOOGA'S KIDS ON THE BLOCK

Chattanooga, TN (02/04/10)- Are you doing the Derby? during IMPACT 2010, an annual fundraising event to benefit Chattanooga's Kids on the Block.

On Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Historic Engle Stadium, guests will walk the red carpet into "Millionaires Row" to help celebrate the annual Kentucky Derby Chattanooga style. Live horses draped in roses, "Big Hat" contests, "My Old Kentucky Home" played by the Alhambra Highlander Bagpipe Band will kick of the day of fun activities and surprises. While enjoying the festivities of the Derby, Chattanooga style, guests can enjoy tantalizing food and the traditional mint julep, then conclude the evening with dancing at the gates. All proceeds will benefit Chattanooga's Kids on the Block to help continue its powerful educational programs free of charge to schools in the 12 county service area.

The gates will open at 4:30pm with guest check in and display of fabulous items for bid. The Derby buffet will be served beginning at 5:00pm and special drinks will be available until 11:30pm. Throughout the day, "Big Hat", "Best Dressed" among other fun contests will be held with magnificent prizes for the winners. Special "Derby" hats for women, decorated by students of Ooltewah High School's Art and Fashion Design departments, will be available for purchase the day of the event. Throughout the day guests will enjoy the royal treatment including freshening up in the Royal Restrooms, one of the event sponsors. At the finish line, guests can dance on the red carpet of Millionaires Row concluding their Derby experience Chattanooga style, all benefiting Chattanooga's Kids on the Block.

For the past 30 years, CKOB features life size puppets designed to teach children and adults about social concerns and differences in a non-threatening manner giving them skills to stay safe and healthy. The programs are free of charge to schools in twelve different counties thanks to our funding from United Way, Big River Grille & Brewing Works Southern Brewers Festival, Tennessee Department of Children's Services, Mental Heath Association of Middle Tennessee, Chattanooga Area Brain Injury Association, Tennessee Donor Services, among others, individual donors and fundraisers.

Tickets for the event are $60 for individuals and $100 per couple, which includes the Derby buffet, beer, wine, and dancing. Additional information and ticket purchases can be made by calling the Chattanooga's Kids on the Block office at (423) 757-5259.
