Saturday, May 5, 2012 at AT&T Field

Chattanooga, TN (02/07/12)- Are you doing the Derby? during IMPACT 2012, an annual fundraising event to benefit Chattanooga's Kids on the Block.

On Saturday, May 5, 2012, at AT&T Field in downtown Chattanooga, guests will ride the escalator up to the red carpet and into “Millionaires Row” to help celebrate the annual Kentucky Derby Chattanooga style. This year’s event falls on the Mexican celebration Cinco de Mayo, so “we are going to add a twist to this year’s event,” said Kelly Williams, Executive Director of Chattanooga's Kids on the Block. Live horses draped in roses, “Big Hat” contests, “My Old Kentucky Home” played by the Alhambra Highlander Bagpipe Band, the National Anthem by Walt Marler will kick off the day of fun activities and surprises.

While enjoying the festivities of the Derby…Chattanooga style with a “twist”, guests can enjoy tantalizing food, the traditional mint julep and tequila, and a silent auction, concluding the evening with dancing in the Winner’s Circle. All proceeds will benefit Chattanooga's Kids on the Block to help continue its powerful educational programs free of charge to schools in the 14 county service area.

The gates will open at 4:30pm with guest check in and display of fabulous items for bid in the Silent Auction. The Derby buffet will be served beginning at 5:00pm and special drinks will be available until 11pm. Throughout the day, “Big Hat”, “Best Dressed” among other fun contests will be held with magnificent prizes for the winners. All day guests can enjoy “Bourbon Alley”, the event’s outdoor bourbon and cigar tent. At the finish line, guests can dance in the Winner’s Circle, concluding their Derby experience Chattanooga Style with a twist, all benefiting Chattanooga's Kids on the Block.

Tickets for the event are $50 for individuals and $75 per couple, which includes the complimentary Derby buffet, complimentary beer and wine, and 1 complimentary mint julep (additional $5 each). This year special VIP tickets will be available at $130 per couple and will include private VIP area, complimentary buffet, wine, beer, bourbon and champagne, and access to private restrooms for VIP guests only.
